MAPFRE raises its stake in Abante to 20 percent

Given the positive evolution of the alliance, which was signed just over a year and a half ago, MAPFRE has decided to execute the option it held to increase its stake in Abante. In these 16 months, MAPFRE and Abante have consolidated a strategic relationship in asset management and have made progress in jointly developing the design, creation and distribution of new financial products.

MAPFRE and Abante raise 300 million for infrastructure fund on the back of strong investor interest

The proof is in the pudding: one of the signs of the success of the agreement between MAPFRE and Abante has been the success enjoyed by the infrastructure fund, MAPFRE Infraestructuras FCR. Just three months after opening, this vehicle, which invests in Macquarie strategies, has raised 300 million euros, 50 percent more than the amount initially sought.

MAPFRE AM’s strategy in Europe and Latin America

In an article published by specialist financial media outlet L’AGEFI, José Luis Jiménez, MAPFRE’s group chief investment officer, takes stock of MAPFRE AM’s strategy, affirming that he is is open to contemplating new growth opportunities in the French market if a small or medium-sized asset manager comes along that fits their model. MAPFRE AM already owns a 25 stake in the French boutique firm La Financière Responsible (LFR).

Bloomberg has included MAPFRE in the GEI: Global Gender-Equality Index, which provides transparency on gender-related practices in listed companies by increasing the information on environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria available to investors.
