Why the time has come to invest in infrastructure
We need more infrastructure investment if we wish to continue advancing social responsibility, and the scope of this investment needs to be on a scale not seen before. Together with Abante and Macquarie, MAPFRE further underpins its commitment to alternative assets with the launch of a fund that invests fully in this asset class. In this article, Elena Gamonal, head of the group’s infrastructure projects, analyses the reasons behind this move.

“Socially conscious investments are going to grow significantly over the coming years”

“MAPFRE has always had a very important social dimension, and that extends to our investments as well, in that we align our investment portfolio with the company philosophy.” During Global Invest Forum, the single largest asset management forum on the French calendar, José Luis Jiménez, Chief Investment Officer of MAPFRE, explained how the ESG philosophy is integrated into all the company’s processes.

MAPFRE AM Good Governance achieves leadership in its category
This global equity investment fund, which is committed to good corporate governance, is showing a return of 17 percent so far this year, placing it among the best in its category. Eduardo Ripollés, director of institutional business for MAPFRE AM, explained the investment policy of the fund during a round table organized by ZonaValue, and also discussed the companies in which it invests, which carry a significant technology weighting.

“The margin for negative news is reduced and there is a lot of liquidity that acts as price support”

The macroeconomic forecasts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) reveal that the crisis shows no sign of abating. In an interview with Radio Intereconomía, Alberto Matellán, chief economist of MAPFRE Inversión, analyzes these data in depth, as well as the results of large finance houses in the United States and the expected inflation movements. He also offers recommendations to investors to help them weather the storm.

Where to Find Undervalued Stocks

Barron’s interviews Jonathan Boyar, president of Boyar Value Group, a partner of MAPFRE AM in the United States, who explains what differentiates The Boyar Value Group from other value investing companies. Boyar also talks about what to look for and what to stay away from when investing in spinoffs, and the importance of catalysts (especially to avoid value traps), among other topics.
