“The Brazilian insurance sector may triple its size in the coming years”, Antonio Huertas in Valor Econòmico

MAPFRE’s Chairman and CEO has been optimistic about the prospects for the Brazilian economy and its insurance sector, in an interview recently given in Valor Econòmico, one of the leading publications in the Brazilian market.

Citing the conclusions of the GIP index of insurance potential, prepared by MAPFRE Economics, which calculates the potential index of development of the insurance sector in 96 markets, Brazil is the market with the highest growth potential in the insurance industry in all of Latin America and one of the ten most important in the world. “It could triple in size in the next few years.”

Regarding the situation of the Brazilian economy, despite the effects that the covid pandemic is generating in the economic fabric of the country, Huertas has been confident that the recovery will occur quickly, “in a period of four to six months”.
