The analysis and research work of MAPFRE Economic Research focuses on topics related to insurance and complementary social security, macroeconomic and financial variables and regulatory frameworks. With the aim to foster analysis, different types of reports will be produced:
Annual reports that provide an overview of the structure of different insurance markets based on a general review of the economic environment. They address the main magnitudes (such as premiums, investments, technical provisions, technical and financial performance, and profitability among others), as well as the structural trends of these markets. An annual analysis of the largest insurance groups that are being classified regarding the volume of premiums, and the GIP-MAPFRE (Global Insurance Potential Index), an indicator that facilitates ranking insurance markets in line with their potential contribution to closing the global insurance gap are also included.
