For yet another year, Mapfre ranks among the most highly regarded companies for its performance in environmental, social, and corporate governance matters, as reflected in the leading independent assessments of its ESG management. The results achieved show its progress and constant commitment to sustainability

Particularly noteworthy is the result achieved in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, where Mapfre scored 88 out of 100 points—six points higher than in 2025—placing it among the top 10 insurers worldwide with the highest ESG ratings. The insurer achieved 95 points in the social dimension, with the maximum score (100 points) in the areas of human rights and privacy protection. It also increased its score in the economic and corporate governance dimension (89 points, eight more than in 2024), achieving top results in areas such as transparency and reporting and tax strategy, among others, and obtained 73 points in the environmental dimension. This year, more than 13,000 companies were invited to take part in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), a questionnaire comprising around one hundred questions on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters.
In addition, Mapfre has been included in the FTSE4Good Index Series with a score of 4 out of 5, nearly one point above the sector average of the companies analyzed, which stands at 3.2. The FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies that demonstrate solid ESG practices, in particularin areas such as the corporate governance, health and safety, anti-corruption, and climate change. Their evaluations are used by a wide variety of market participants to create and evaluate responsible mutual funds and other products. In this index, the company achieved a score of 4.5 in the corporate governance dimension, with the maximum score in aspects related to risk management (5), and a score of 4.3 in the social dimension, with top marks in areas such as responsible supply chain management (5) and having a recruitment policy with social and ethical standards (5).
Climate change, employment, and transparency
Its performance in the fight against climate change has enabled Mapfre to improve its position in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a global non-profit organization that manages the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system. The insurer achieved one the highest possible rating, an ‘A’, placing it among the leading companies worldwide that demonstrate detailed disclosures, strong environmental governance, and tangible progress toward environmental resilience. It has also been recognized, for the sixth consecutive year, as a Top Employer 2026 company, one of the most important international certifications in the field of people management, and it ranks among the top five most responsible companies in its sector, according to the latest Merco ESG Responsibility report.
