Biodiversity and natural capital
Biodiversity is vital for life on the planet, social well-being, and economic development. At Mapfre, we work to integrate Natural Capital, which also includes natural resources, water, soil, as well as ecosystem services.

Restoring ecosystems means preventing, halting, and reversing damage. Not halting investment, but rather investing in the environment.
Our strategy
Climate, nature, and people. We are incorporating natural capital management and biodiversity conservation into the company’s strategy.
Natural capital and biodiversity
We raise awareness and support initiatives to protect ecosystems that are most sensitive to the effects of climate change, and we carry out reforestation projects.
Compensation strategy
We measure our environmental impact and set emission reduction and carbon neutrality targets through our Environmental Footprint Plan 2021-2030
Discover our projects
We’ve included biodiversity preservation in the selection of carbon offset projects, with the aim of being able, in the near future, to quantify the offsetting of our environmental impact both in terms of CO2 and natural capital.
