Once again, Mapfre participated prominently in Insurtech Insights Europe 2026, the leading forum on technology and innovation for the insurance sector. On this occasion, with two interventions focused on issues very closely related to our current situation: confidence as a lever for growth and the future of interaction in an environment marked by AI.

On one hand, Juan Francés, Group Head of Brand & Reputation at Mapfre, participated in a roundtable discussion about the role of the brand in the growth of the business. In his contribution, Francés focused on confidence as a structural element of insurance and on the importance of building solid identities in a sector where the relationship with the client demands credibility and consistency. In that line, he linked Mapfre’s recent rebranding with the positioning of the company and with its future growth capacity.
Meanwhile, Bárbara Fernández, Deputy Director of Disruptive Innovation at Mapfre, spoke about the future of interaction. Her contribution raised different scenarios about the relationship between people and AI assistants, based on a futurecasting methodology, and conveyed a fundamental idea: the sector must start working today on the debates and decisions that will shape its response in the coming years.

AI, execution, and business transformation
Artificial Intelligence is no longer presented at events like Insurtech Insights Europe as an abstract promise, but now it takes the lead in conversations about efficiency, costs, speed of execution, and decision-making quality. Specifically, attention focused on how to scale its use with real impact on the business, especially in complex, information-intensive processes.
In that context, agentic models were the main focus, but accompanied by an equally important idea: without robust data, flexible architecture, and governance, technology does not scale. The debate, therefore, is no longer limited to what AI can do, but rather to the conditions an insurance company needs in order to integrate it in a useful and sustainable way.
Resilience, risk, and maturity of the sector
Along with AI, resilience has established itself as another major focal point of Insurtech Insights Europe 2026. The sector is moving towards a more forward-looking model focused on active risk management, with special attention to areas such as climate and cybersecurity. At the same time, the conversation shifted from the digitalization of processes to redefining key decisions in underwriting, pricing, portfolio, and operations.
Insurtech Insights Europe 2026 has offered a clear picture of the current state of the insurance industry: a more mature stage in its relationship with technology, greater pressure to translate innovation into tangible results, and a growing awareness that growth will depend on combining execution, talent, and adaptability.
