Through this project, the investment managers from Mapfre’s various territories, led by Juan Bernal, Group Chief Investment Officer, will visit the corporate center, where they will take part in intensive training sessions attended by up to 40 people from different departments, as well as the Mapfre AM and Mapfre Inversión teams, to share corporate culture and best practices.

Mexico and Colombia have kicked off this series of visits, with the investment managers from both countries having spent several days at the company’s headquarters in Majadahonda. In the coming weeks, investment managers from other territories will take part in these training sessions as part of an ongoing initiative, with the visits set to be repeated on a regular basis.

“The aim of these visits is to provide training and share best practices across a range of areas, including investments, asset and liability matching, financial risks, leadership, artificial intelligence…,” explains Estanislao del Campo, LATAM Investment Manager at Mapfre AM.

José David López, Investment Manager at Mapfre Colombia, considers the week of training to have been “extremely valuable”, as it has given him the opportunity to gain a global perspective on how Mapfre manages its investments. “What I take away from this experience is a great deal of learning and training that I can pass on to my colleagues in Colombia,” he adds.

Alejandro Mejía, Investment Manager at Mapfre Mexico, highlights the opportunity to learn about different perspectives that he can now share with his team. “We’re taking away many challenges to tackle as we continue to strengthen the company’s financial position, doing our bit from Mexico,” he concludes.
