MAPFRE appoints Maribel Solanas to newly created role of Chief Data Officer (CDO)
MAPFRE has created the role of Group Chief Data Officer (CDO), reporting to the Transformation and Innovation Committee, with the mission of developing the Data Governance policy and helping to manage data as a strategic company asset. In an era where data are of increasing importance and relevance in understanding the needs and behavior of clients, MAPFRE has created this role with the ambition of further strengthening its competitive advantage.
Developing the Data Governance policy will entail executing a strategy in collaboration with the business and corporate areas, driving data analysis and management, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality and value of information assets.
The new CDO at MAPFRE is Maribel Solanas González, who will also join the Group’s Transformation and Innovation Committee.
Maribel Solanas has a degree in Exact Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, and she joined MAPFRE in 1999. She moved to the Technology area’s Big Data and CRM department in 2009, where she held various positions of responsibility. In 2016 she was promoted to Business Development Manager, within Business and Clients, and she is currently Group Head of Client Experience.
