Mapfre RE, Mapfre’s reinsurance unit, enters the top 10 global ranking prepared by the specialized firm NMG Consulting and ranks as the tenth most important global brand in the sector.

Unlike other rankings in the reinsurance sector, which classify firms based on generated premiums, NMG Consulting publishes a comprehensive report every year that ranks the 50 leading global brands based on the responses reflected in a macro-survey conducted by the consultancy among brokers and insurers worldwide.

In the latest edition of the ranking, newly published, Mapfre Re positions itself as the reinsurance company that has achieved the greatest rise in ranking over the past year: it has climbed three places, mainly thanks to the boost in brand perception achieved in Europe and Asia, according to the report by NMG Consulting.

Consolidated trend

The position achieved by Mapfre Re in the global top 10 for brand perception adds to other rankings in which Mapfre’s reinsurance business unit consolidates a trend that places it among the major groups on a global scale.

In September 2025, it was made public that Mapfre RE has climbed three positions during the last year to enter the top 15 of the world’s largest reinsurers, according to the S&P ranking, which ranks companies by their premium volume.

Another ranking, in this case the one prepared by Mapfre Economics, places Mapfre’s reinsurance unit in 12th place worldwide.
