MAPFRE and the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) have signed a global collaboration agreement to promote training activities, talent development and disseminate the importance of insurance in society, thus reinforcing the years of joint work between the two entities in favor of education.

The agreement was signed by Juan Carlos Rondeau, MAPFRE’s Corporate Director of People and Organization, and David Bach, President of IMD, at the Monte del Pilar Campus of MAPFRE’s Corporate University.

David Bach, President of IMD, said: “We are pleased to be collaborating with MAPFRE to grow a future-ready workforce with inspiring and purposeful leaders who will take the company forward into a sustainable future.”

Juan Carlos Rondeau, MAPFRE’s Corporate Director of People and Organization, stressed the importance of this type of agreement, which enables knowledge exchange among professionals from different fields. “Training has always been and will always be one of MAPFRE’s hallmarks, even more so in a changing environment such as the current one in which it is necessary to continue to enhance the skills and knowledge of our professionals on an ongoing basis in order to offer the best service to our clients.

This initiative is part of MAPFRE’s Universities Plan, which aims to bring the university closer to the company through collaboration, youth development and other collaboration and innovation projects.

IMD is a world-renowned business school founded by executives, for executives, just after the second world war. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, it also has a campus in Singapore and a Management Development Hub in Shenzhen, China. As well as degree programs (MBA and EMBA), it provides executive education to 28,000 executives in more than 120 countries each year.

The agreement includes executive programs designed by IMD for MAPFRE professionals and access, both for IMD staff and students, to Fundación MAPFRE’s Documentation Center, which specializes in insurance and finance. It also foresees actions focused on disseminating the insurance culture, activities related to innovation and research projects.

MAPFRE’s Universities Plan is developed through collaboration agreements with leading universities, business schools and educational institutions around the world. Through this agreement with IMD, projects will be carried out in the different countries where MAPFRE is present.

The agreement strengthens several of the pillars on which MAPFRE’s University Plan is based, such as promoting an insurance culture, highlighting the importance of insurance both in people’s private lives and in the business world; and sharing knowledge, through programs such as those to be developed by IMD for MAPFRE employees and executives, encouraging the development of talent.
