United Nations Global Compact

In 2004 MAPFRE signed up to the Global Compact of the United Nations, a voluntary initiative that seeks the commitment of companies in aligning their strategies and operations with ten universal principles across four thematic areas: human rights, employment rights, the environment and anti-corruption. MAPFRE has also been a signatory to the Spanish Global Compact Network since its creation. 
Human rights

Principle 1: Protection of Fundamental human rights.  

Principle 2: No Human Rights abuses.

Employment rights

Principle 3: Freedom of association and collective bargaining.

Principle 4: Elimination of forced and compulsory labour. 

Principle 5: Abolition of child labour. 

Principle 6: Elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation. 


Principle 7: Precautionary approach to environmental challenges.

Principle 8: Initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.

Principle 9: Diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

Anti-corruption Principle 10: Work against corruption, extortion and bribery.
