One of the most peculiar activities carried out in
CESVIMAP, from a technical point of view, is, without a
doubt, the Crash tests.
Different types of
motor vehicles, such as passenger cars, industrial
vehicles, and motorcycles, are subjected to different
standardized tests such as, for instance, the RCAR ( http://www.rcar.org/ )
standard tests. RCAR is an organization which gathers
together the foremost automobile research centres, who
exchange the fruits of their experience periodically,
and CESVIMAP is a member. The vehicles are submitted to
front and rear crash tests. These and other
tests provide very significant data with respect to
repairability. The information obtained makes it
possible, in turn, to prepare very highly detailed
reports in which different models are compared
experimentally in the CESVIMAP installations.
